A beautiful Sunday morning greeted our players and parents for the start of the GBJT Annual Singles tournament held at the Queensland Tennis Centre at Tennyson. With over 70 players competing, we had some great matches and very close results to determin our winners on the day. We congratulate everyone for the great tennis on the day and a special thanks to our parents who helped out on the day. The results for the day were as follows:
The Semi-finals, (25th May) will be played at the same venue and time as usual and one player will have a bye as usual. Captains will choose their best team for the Semi-finals and the player on bye for the Semi-finals must play on Finals' Day. The list of semi-finals matches will be emailed next week. If a replacement player is required for the semi-finals or finals, he/she must be graded at the same level or below as the person being replaced. Each team is required to allocate one parent to supervise for each of the Semi-final and Final matches.
Final's Day, (1st June) will start at the earlier time of 1:00 pm so that play can be completed for the presentation of trophies and awards at 4:30 pm. The Finals will be played at the Queensland Tennis Centre at Tennyson while the play-offs for the Best of the Rest will be played at either Tennyson or the UQ Centre at St Lucia.
There will be a free BBQ for GBJT players and their families at Tennyson on Finals' Day.
The Annual GBJT GBJT singles tournament is to be held on Sunday 19 May commencing at 8am at the Queensland Tennis Centre. Good luck to all of our players competing!
The GBJT Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 23 March at 3.15pm at the QTC. We welcome participation from any members of the GBJT community and look forward to your contribution.

Season 1, 2013 entries are now closed. Team draws and instructions for GBJT fixtures will be emailed to all players prior to the commencement of fixtures on 23 February 2013. We look forward to welcoming all our players to GBJT tennis fixtures.
The GBJT Grading Day for Season 1, 2013 will be held for new players on Sunday 10 February from 3pm to 5pm at the Queensland Tennis Centre, Tennyson. On-line enrolments can be completed before grading day by clicking on our 'enrolment form' icon. We look forward to welcoming you to grading day and GBJT.

The cost for Season 1, 2013 will be $175 (discount of $20 for each additional family member). Full payment is due at the time of enrolment.
In 2013, GBJT players will be registered with Tennis Queesland automatically with payment of the GBJT fees. There is no longer a $33 TQ fee. Parents of GBJT players are invited to register with Tennis Queensland for 2013 through GBJT for free. This registration covers a number of benefits, including personal accident insurance and the offer of priority seating for the Brisbane International and Australian Open tennis tournaments. Registration can be made by GBJT on your behalf or by on-line registration through Tennis Queenland, nominating Greater Brisbane Junior Tennis as your club. Any family members who would like to be fill-in players for GBJT in 2013 can also be registered for free.

Sunday morning 21 October saw 100 GBJT juniors play in the Annual GBJT Doubles Tournament! It was a great mornings tennis with many close matches to determine our winners and runners-up on the day. We trust you all enjoyed the extra competition of tournament play and enjoyed your days play. A special thank you to the parents who helped out on the day.
